As a reference in medicine and health in Brazil, Fleury is an institution that developed a history of excellence and reliability. A successful path. Founded in 1926 by Gastão Fleury Silveira, graduated from Medicine School of the University of São Paulo (USP), it began its activities as clinical analysis laboratory, focusing on excellence in services and care to patient and to the medical faculty.

Throughout the years, the number of tests provided increased, becoming the first multidisciplinary laboratory of clinical analysis, and, later on, incorporated imaging tests and tests of all medical specialties. The passion for medicine and respect, care and attention provided to all patients made Fleury main reference in diagnostic medicine in Brazil.

Its practice has been guided by ethical precepts, technical excellence targets, reliability in its services and customized human services. The harmony between vanguard, scientific knowledge accuracy and vocation to caring and distinctive patient service has consequently brought recognition and trust from patients and the medical faculty.

Enlarging the area of practice
Fleury grew from a small clinical analysis laboratory to the largest center of diagnostic medicine in the country. It offers more than 3,000 different tests in 37 different medicine areas, among them clinical analysis and imaging tests, such as X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance and mammography, capillaroscopy, bone densitometry, electroencephalography, electroneuromyography, gastrointestinal motility and polysomnography; in addition to other diagnostic tests in medical specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, fetal medicine, nuclear  medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, oncology, pneumology, rheumatology, and urology.

Its renowned Check-Up service has enlarged, providing customized solutions to companies and individuals, in addition to distinctive products such as Check-Up Fitness, for beginners or professionals, and Traveler’s Check-Up, for those who intend to travel to risky regions.

Beyond the diagnostic medicine, Fleury implemented the vaccine service and innovated with the genetic counseling center for detection of genetic and oncological diseases.

It has also launched the Health Promotion service, which corresponds to a first part of many other complementary medical services that, in conjunction, will provide services to corporate patients and individuals in an integrated way.

Human and distinctive Service
Fleury provides comfort and efficiency. There are 21 service units located in the city of São Paulo (SP), Santo André (SP), São Bernardo do Campo (SP), Barueri (SP), Campinas (SP), Jundiaí (SP), and Rio de Janeiro (RJ), in addition to Brasília.

The 24h Service Center receives around 5,000 daily calls, informing about the services provided, scheduling tests, clarifying doubts and providing guidance to preparations needed to medical procedures, including providing customized instructions by e-mail or fax. The patient may choose the location, time and even the preferred physician for the tests.

In the Units, everything is planned to promote well-being to around 2,500 patients served daily, from the valet parking to the comfortable environment and caring service provided by receptionists, technicians, nurses and physicians. In these units, there is always a physician available to clear doubts and answer intercurrences.

Special attention is given to different publics, from seniors to physically challenged individuals. Care that goes beyond concern with access ramps, signaling, adequate furniture and indications in Braille.

Children also get special attention. They are received by a team specialized in childcare in ludic environments. The procedures are specially elaborated for this public: vaccines, jaundice tests without the need to use needles and microcollection to collect the minimum amount of blood from them.

The Ambulatory Service is one more distinctive feature. Fleury comes to the patient and performs clinical analysis, electrocardiogram, blood pressure ambulatory monitoring, Holter, ultrasound tests (general and obstetric), color Doppler and polysomnography. The perfect service for those who are not able to or does not want to leave the house.

For adults and children who need to be under fasting, Fleury provides its famous breakfast.

Even the delivery of results is a distinctive feature: on internet or e-mail, at home or at the doctor’s office, by carrier or mail, or event at self-service kiosks located at some units and malls.

Fleury uses the most modern equipment and high technology to the medical field, which allows for a wider range of tests in a single company in Brazil.

The Technical-administrative Headquarters of 13,000 m² was designed following a horizontal architectural concept, which promotes integration between professionals by providing an environment where specialized physicians, both in clinical and laboratory area, interact and share knowledge, experience and solutions to obtain the best and most complete results. This unit, in addition to processing all clinical analysis tests collected at the service units, concentrates all administrative activities. Investments in technology and automation ensure total accuracy in the analysis, in addition to a significant gain in productivity. All tests undergo strict quality and international standards controls, ensuring total reliability of the results.

Fleury was a pioneer in implementing an Integrated Management Policy, certified by ISO 9001:2000 and ISO14001 standards, demonstrating its concern about quality, continuous improvement of procedures and preservation of the environment. The internal processes are fully integrated from the beginning of the service call to release and storage of results. Pioneering features are used in this process, such as fuzzy logic, bioinformatics, and teleradiology, contributing strongly to the accuracy and promptitude of tests and, particularly, for security and total reliability of the result.

The computer technology in health developed by Fleury over the last two decades have been providing patients online access to their current and previous results in the form of electronic medical record, providing for each result the progress of the medical background.

There are more than 500 health professionals: researchers, biomedical scientists, biochemists, biologists, nurses and nursing assistants. Fleury was the first to computerize its processes and customer service, and also to make available, since 1998, the tests results on the Internet. The website is one of the most advanced and visited in the health area. Allows access to testing information and service units, tests scheduling and withdrawal of results (including imaging) and access to background results. Fleury also provides the medical community access to test results of their patients, manual tests with real-time update, multimedia lessons and courses and technical-scientific articles.

Fleury has a long tradition of innovation and pioneering, investing in research and development area, with the continuous generation of new diagnostic tests. It is also a pioneer in applying high technology methodologies in laboratories, such as mass spectrometry, and state of the art molecular techniques, such as real-time PCR for DNA analysis. In addition, physicians and doctors of Fleury, as researchers, also develop several research projects in the medical field in association with the best universities in Brazil and abroad, generating knowledge through several scientific publications.

Integrated solutions
Fleury is the reference laboratory to perform more complex tests with high technology for about 600 of the most renowned clinical laboratories and hospitals throughout Brazil. It also keeps hospital operations by means of associations where Fleury is the technical responsible for diagnostics, also providing medical advice to medical staff 24 hours a day. Fleury was also the first national company to provide services in multicenter clinical trials for testing of new drugs. More than 250 studies involving new drugs have been conducted in partnership with Fleury, responsible for the logistics of sample collection and analysis, report organization and electronic transfer of results.
